This week we continued using the program Jeroo. Jeroo, unlike Scratch or Alice, doesn't have "pieces" of code to input into the script. Instead, the user must type up the code and follow the program's syntax. Certain requirements include semi-colons after every command and case-sensitive words. The code is very simple to type up because there are only several things a jeroo(the equivalent of an object in Alice) can do, but this then limits the things possible in the program. This is okay though because it seems like the focus of Jeroo is patterns, in code or on the island. In Jeroo there is an island that the user can change the geographical layout and then guide a jeroo through. The user can also make the jeroo plant, pick up, give, or toss flowers and navigate the island to accomplish an objective. So far, I like the fact that Jeroo is focused on the patterns and repetition in programming and made it simple to understand and work with.
