I recently saw a video about a kid and his friends bake sale, however, it didn't end the way you might expect. The boy and his friends decided to earn some money and held a bake sale. They made $120 profit and split up the money. Realizing that they were a success, they planned to hold another sale the next weekend, but when the tried to set up they were shut down by a tipped off police officer for not having a permit. The police department and city officials pointed out that because the sales were for profit the kids needed a permit(which can cost hundreds of dollars) to sale their baked goods, but as one official pointed out there can be exceptions. What I feel is wrong about this story is not the fact that the city feels like they must always be right and enforce the rules on everyone, which is understandable, but the fact that they feel that they have to punish kids who worked hard to make a little bit of money instead of letting them be one of the exceptions.
